Carol Alexander-Lewis’ Biography Carol works tirelessly to promote ideals and strategies to improve the quality of education for every child, garnering support from educators throughout the nation. In this regard, Carol recently visited the Harvard Graduate School of Education to interview several renowned educators for publication in upcoming editions of Modern Parents Magazine. Carol has nearly twenty years of experience in the public school education. Her teaching, school site administration and district level administrative experience ranges from preschool to high school. She currently serves as an adjunct professor at Dillard University. As central office administrator of Signature Elementary Schools, the precursor to the current Charter Schools movement, Carol supervised ten schools. She also served as an administrator of Title I and Federal/Consolidated Programs. Carol is very cognizant of current educational trends. Carol is the founder and executive director of the National Family Development Institute and Parents for Public Schools of Greater New Orleans. She has served as program director for state and federal innovative programs and mentorship grants. Carol currently runs a consulting service. She has conducted numerous workshops and in-services on parenting and parental involvement. Such efforts are positioned to be expanded in the future. |
